Innovative ROPS/FOPS Solutions & Water Carts

Frequently Asked Questions

Regarding On Highway Vehicles

First and foremost "Is your ROPS/FOPS certified to Australian Standards?"
Yes - all our designs are tested to destruction before certification as per AS2294 & ISO3471:2008. Test procedure assessed by independent firm Hightech Labs.

"Is your ROPS readily removable for servicing or easy replacement?"
Although initial installation necessitates stripping of the chassis and reinforcing with plate, removal (should it ever be required) is a simple process.

"How strong is your ROPS?"
The simple answer - "IT's NOT". A ROPS frame needs to absorb energy so it needs to deform or collapse in a collision. Our designs allow this to occur without placing undue stress on the truck itself. In most minor incidents a replacement frame can be ordered to bolt directly to the original mounts.

"How much load space is required to fit it?"
Our medium and heavy duty mounting system requires 350mm of chassis space. We do however endeavour to keep this as close to or partially under the cab to maximise the remaining load space.

"Will this increase my overhead clearance?"
To varying degrees, yes. On fixed cab/bonnet design trucks the increase will be approx 200mm but on tilt forward type cabs the need for extra clearance means the ROPS frame will sit some 500-600mm higher than roof level. If however this is an issue for your site, we can offer you hydraulic or manual "Folding" ROPS frames that will lift out of the way when required bringing clearance back down to ~200mm above roof level.

"Stand alone or integrated with Water Cart or Tray?"
Integrated ROPS designs work well and can cut costs initially, but you may run into problems when it comes time to recertify the ROPS frame. To pass certification a ROPS needs to be free from structural damage or rust. Will your slurry engulfing water cart or much abused tray be in such a pristine condition after a few years? This is one of the reasons why we have kept our products separate.

"Turn around time?"
By keeping all stages of production and fitting in-house, we have been able to keep our turnaround times amongst the lowest in the business. Nobody wants to be without such an asset for any extended period. At present our turnaround times on standard 2 post ROPS/FOPS are 4-7 working days.
